Twelve students from Italy and the United States will be discussing their theses
On Tuesday September 19, the day after the conclusion of Cheese in Bra, a degree thesis examination session will be held in Pollenzo for 12 students from the three-year undergraduate and two-year graduate degree courses.
Below are their names and thesis titles.
Two-Year Graduate Degree in Promotion and Management of Gastronomic and Tourism Heritage
Federico Bordignon, 25, from Vicenza, Veneto, will discuss his thesis entitled “L’alimentazione sportiva nella Storia: dal frutto proibito nella Genesi alla scienza dietetica basso-medievale” (“Sport diets in history: From the forbidden fruit in Genesis to late medieval dietetic science”), supervised by Professor Antonella Campanini.
Eleonora Persico, 26, from Turin, Piedmont, will discuss her thesis entitled “Buono, Pulito e Giusto: a sustainable link between OLDER Paris and UNISG,” supervised by Professor Damiano Cortese.
Gianluca Rampoldi, 25, from Cermenate, Lombardy, will discuss his thesis entitled “How to Develop a Fine Wine Investment Portfolio,” supervised by Professor Carmine Garzia.
Alice Revello, 23, from Turin, Piedmont, will discuss her thesis entitled “Il riso in Italia: evoluzione e trasformazione culturale, da commodity a prodotto di qualità” (“Rice in Italy: Evolution and cultural transformation, from commodity to quality product”), supervised by Professor Damiano Cortese.
Stefano Serra, 25, from Turin, Piedmont, will discuss his thesis entitled “Il turismo degli italiani in Italia: analisi dei flussi e interpretazione strategica dei risultati” (“Italian tourism in Italy: Analysis of flows and strategic interpretation of results”), supervised by Professor Damiano Cortese.
Three-Year Undergraduate Degree
Gianluca Bitelli, 22, from Rome, will discuss his thesis entitled “Le pratiche di sostenibilità nell’industria del food” (“Sustainability practices in the food industry”), supervised by Professor Carmine Garzia.
Tyler Kennedy Hanse, 24, from the United States, will discuss his thesis entitled “Pigs on Pasture in Northern Europe: best-practice swine management and its effects on soil quality,” supervised by Professor Paola Migliorini.
Giulio Iazzetta, 23, from Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna, will discuss his thesis entitled “La Vernaccia di Oristano: L’importanza dei fattori umani per la tutela e la valorizzazione” (“Oristano Vernaccia: The importance of human factors for protection and promotion”), supervised by Professor Antonella Campanini.
Matteo Leonardi, 22, from Cressa, Piedmont, will discuss his thesis entitled “Truths and Exploded Myths on Palm Oil,” supervised by Professor Andrea Pezzana.
Alessandro Medici, 23, from Montecchio Emilia, Emilia-Romagna, will discuss his thesis entitled “Le guide del vino in Italia tra storia, cultura e modelli di gusto” (“Wine guides in Italy, between history, culture and models of taste”), supervised by Professor Nicola Perullo.
Mara Petruzzelli, 22, from Turin, Piedmont, will discuss her thesis entitled “La qualità alimentare nei sistemi di ristorazione scolastica. Caso studio: La Granda” (“Food quality in school meal systems: La Granda case study”), supervised by Professor Andrea Pezzana.
Valeria Stecher, 23, from Silandro, Trentino-Alto Adige, will discuss her thesis entitled “Mountains & Food – an Exploration of the Rituals in the Vinschgau,” supervised by Professor Piercarlo Grimaldi.
