Association of Friends of the University
The University of Gastronomic Sciences is a ministry-recognized, private non-profit university modeled on other prestigious Italian universities. Its teaching activities are supported by an independent non-profit association (the Association of Friends of the University of Gastronomic Sciences) that oversees organizational and financial matters.
The Association of Friends of the University is governed by an Assembly of Members (representatives of public and private entities who contribute to the University's development), and a Board of Directors, whose members also include the founders: Slow Food and the regions of Piedmont and Emilia-Romagna.
Private companies and individuals play a key role in the University. Their input is significant in ensuring the ongoing success of the institution, with financial and organizational contributions where necessary.
UNISG’s organizational structure came into being on January 27, 2003, with the establishment of a University Committee, later replaced by the Association of Friends of the University on September 25 of the same year.
The Association of Friends of the University received the official decree of University recognition from the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities, and Research (Ministerial Decree no. 262, August 5, 2004).
