Cultural Gastronomy Workshops

The three-year undergraduate program includes 7 credits that are earned within the framework of integrated learning, a unique aspect of the university’s educational design. Interactive workshops rather than formal lectures, these integrated learning experiences are enriched with seminars, round tables, panel discussions, and meetings with producers, cooks, and other food professionals. They may also include student-run projects, tastings, competitions, and participation in a variety of cultural events.

In past years, the integrated learning program has included conversations with such renowned chefs and scholars as Fulvio Pierangelini, Gualtiero Marchesi, Alain Ducasse, Tim Lang, Alessandro Baricco, Fritjof Capra, and Wendell Berry, Italian wine tastings within the Banca del Vino, and  documentary film workshops in collaboration with the Berlinale International Film Festival and Michael Ballhaus.
