Collaboration between research and the agricultural world is necessary to implement knowledge and to bring the experience necessary to reproduce the seed of local varieties that are disappearing into the hands of farmers.

Description


The objective of the project “Dal seme al piatto 2” specifically concerns the phenotypic and agronomic characterization of local vegetable varieties of the Ligurian territory:

  1. Lettuce – LEITÛGA
  2. Montoggio Zucchini – SUCCHIN DE CASAEN
  3. Swiss chard – GIÆA
  4. Parsley – PORSEMMO
  5. Basil
  6. Celery – SÉLOU
  7. Perino tomato – BIG PENDINA
  8. Oval plum tomato – PENDIN RIUNDO
  9. Genoese courgetti
  10. Genoese ribbed tomato – PORSEMINNA
  11. Cabbage gaggetta
  12. Cyprian Pea
  13. Baccillo – FAVETTA GENOVESE
  14. Small Genoese pepper
  15. Ancient small Genoese aubergine

During the 24 months of the project, the partnership will carry out activities such as: agronomic and phenotypic observations for the characterization of the varieties, conservation improvement of 8 varieties and implementation of participatory selection moments.

The expected results are:

  • Recovery, conservation improvement and reproduction of varieties;
  • Morphological and agronomic characterization;
  • Creation of a descriptive card of the varieties.
