The conservation of hardy breeds and the maintenance of a local network of breeders requires constant monitoring of the keepers and identification of resources not yet recorded.
The tools identified for the conservation of local breeds and the counteraction to genetic erosion, as well as the diffusion of culture related to agrobiodiversity are:
- activities closely related or preparatory to the operation of the National Biodiversity Network of agricultural and food interest, in implementation of Article 4 of Law No. 194/2015;
- activities related to the establishment and/or animation of biodiversity routes of agricultural and food interest, in implementation of Article 12 of Law No. 194/2015;
- animation of the National Day of Biodiversity of Agricultural and Food Interest, in implementation of Article 14 of Law No. 194/2015;
- activation of initiatives in schools, referred to in Article 15 of Law No. 194/2015.
