Descrizione

The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted the lives of all of us, but especially those of many girls and boys by denying them access to education and health and widening global inequalities. Although the health emergency has ended, the consequences and effects that constitute real challenges that should have priority on the political agenda of each country continue to be faced every day.

It was during the pandemic that the national research project “Nourishing School” was born from the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo in collaboration with CIRFOOD.

The aim of the project is to analyze the change in children’s eating behaviors within the Italian school catering system, strongly stimulated by the service methods imposed by the pandemic emergency and by the implementation of new minimum environmental criteria.

The research is carried out by the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo and promoted by the Filiera Futura Association and by the Cariplo Foundation, with the contribution of numerous foundations of banking origin associated with Filiera Futura.

At the end of the project, scheduled for the first half of 2023, guidelines will be published for the benefit of local administrations, which have to deal with an ever-changing regulatory framework, and rapidly evolving consumer and household tastes, to encourage consistent choices with the strengthening of local quality food supply chains.
